The Print Logger SOHO software is intended for an audit printing activity (print control and audit printing activity) for printers at workstation, based on Windows 2000/XP/Vista. The program inspects the print jobs on a computer, where Print Logger is installed. Main assignment of the program - collection of the information about sizes (in pages and kilobytes) of local print jobs and record it to the database for the creation reports or subsequent analysis about printing activity.
The program can also inspect sizes of print jobs based on defined quotas and disable printing, if the quotas are exceeded (cost recovery and audit print). Quotas for printing is powerful and effective mechanism for cost management on printing in your organization. Limiting printing activities for some users, you can really save on a toner for printers, paper (especial at a color printing), expenses for repair and service for printers.

The program has the modular architecture and consists of three modules:
the collection module (agent) - provides the process of collection of the information from printers, maintenance of a urgency of the information about the printer's configuration in the system, job control on printing;
an administrative console module (PLAdmin) - provides the process of the software configuration and definitions of quotas.
If you want to use a quotas for printing, you should to remember, that a base principle of job control is a mechanism of quotas. The quota is amount of pages (or money units) in the print job, which amount can not be exceeded. In case of exceeding quotas the print job is removed from printing and the information on it can be shown to the user (depending on the selected mode). The program can operate with three varieties of quotas:
the quota for the computer - defines a maximum quantity of pages (or money units), which can be printed by any user of the given computer on any printer of this computer;
the quota for the user - defines a maximum quantity of pages (or money units), which can be printed by the given user on any printer of this computer;
the quota for the printer - defines a maximum quantity of pages (or money units), which can be printed on the given printer by any user .
Quantity of copies of the program which you can use simultaneously equally to quantity of the got licenses. Exception is Site Licence which does not limit quantity of copies of the program within the one domain. See our License Policy for details.
You can update the version of the program in any time. The upgrade of the version can be free of charge or paid depending on a difference of versions (your current and version to update the program) and type of your license.
