  The Print Logger PE print tracking software is designed for a print tracking (print control and audit printing activity) for printers at workstation, based on Windows. The program inspects the print jobs on a computer, where Print Logger is installed. Main function of the program - collection of the information about sizes (in pages and kilobytes) of local print jobs and record it to the database for the creation reports or subsequent analysis about printing activity.

The Print Logger can also check sizes of print jobs based on defined quotas and prohibit printing, if the quotas are exceeded (cost recovery and audit print). Quotas for printing is very powerful and effective mechanism for cost management on printing. Limiting printing activities for some users, you can really save on a toner for printers, paper (especial at a color printing), costs for repair and service for printers.

SOFTWARE FEATURES AND OPTIONS

The program has the modular architecture and consists of three modules:

• the collection module (agent) - provides the process of collection of the information from printers, maintenance of a urgency of the information about the printer's configuration in the system, job control on printing;
• an administrative console module (PLAdmin) - provides the process of the software configuration and definitions of quotas.

If you want to use a quotas for printing, you should to remember, that a base principle of job control is a mechanism of quotas. The quota is amount of pages (or money units) in the print job, which amount can not be exceeded. In case of exceeding quotas the print job is removed from printing and the information on it can be shown to the user (depending on the selected mode). The program can operate with three varieties of quotas:

• the quota for the computer - defines a maximum quantity of pages (or money units), which can be printed by any user of the given computer on any printer of this computer;
• the quota for the user - defines a maximum quantity of pages (or money units), which can be printed by the given user on any printer of this computer;
• the quota for the printer - defines a maximum quantity of pages (or money units), which can be printed on the given printer by any user .

Software system requirements and prerequisite are common for all the Print Logger editions.

Quantity of copies of the program which you can use simultaneously equally to quantity of the got licenses. Exception is Site Licence which does not limit quantity of copies of the program within the one domain. See our License Policy for details.
