The "Storage options" page allows you set up SQL server as storage for Print Logger data. By default Print Logger stores it's data using embedded data storage engine (Microsoft SQL server 2005 Express).

SQL server version - displays full SQL server version information.

- starting SQL Wizard, it allows you to configure the Print Logger and SQL server to work together. SQL Wizard is a user friendly step-by-step configuration program. If you're setting up the first Print Logger installation with this SQL server, please use the wizard. Second and others installation can be configured without wizard.

SQL server name - SQL server host name, IP address or NetBios computer name. You can select server from the "SQL servers found" list. If list is empty, try to click "Refresh" button.

Database name - the name of the database for Print Logger data. If you're using SQL Wizard, the database will created for you automatically an your existing data will be imported into SQL database. If you're configured not first installation with this SQL server, the database name should be equal to existing Print Logger database.

Database configuration tables prefix

Read/write user name - SQL server user login/account with full access to Print Logger database. Used for adding and removing database records, configuration information. By default "pldbuser".

Read/write user password - the password for read/write user account.

Administrator user name - username for user with administrative privileges on external SQL server, required when you're want to change pldbuser's password on external SQL server. Not required for embedded data storage engine. Required only once per operation, not stored.

Update user's password - press to change the user's password. The Print Logger will be restarted.

Also you can change password for administrative user (sa). This action available for embedded data storage engine only.

Update admin's password - press to change the administrator's password. The Print Logger will be restarted.

When you're using external SQL server, this page looks like:

Update user's password

NOTE: Please do not change Print Logger related user names and passwords directly on SQL server. You should change user names and passwords only from SQL Wizard of from Administrative Console.

NOTE: There is no way to restore your lost password. You can reset your settings for embedded SQL engine running SQLWizard.exe -R. This will reset user names and passwords to default values.

Default logins and passwords for embedded SQL storage engine (Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express) are created during the installation process:

Read/write user name            : "pldbuser"
 

Administrator user name        : "sa"
Administrator user password : "saExpressSqlPL5pwd"

You should change all default passwords to your own to avoid unauthorized access to your data!
